- Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a growing business based in East Kilbride. Supporting a dynamic and commercially focused organisation, our client is looking to appoint a Bookkeeper who will play a central role in maintaining accurate financial records and delivering meaningful management information to support decision making.
The Bookkeeper will report directly into the Management Team and Part Time (Fractional) Finance Director, taking responsibility for the day-to-day finance function and full month-end reporting. This is a hands-on and varied role, ideally suited to an individual who enjoys ownership of the numbers and working closely with operational stakeholders across the business.
As the successful candidate, you will have previous experience in a similar standalone or small team environment and be confident managing the full bookkeeping cycle. You will possess strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
Although the remit of this role will be broad, you can expect your responsibilities to include:
- Preparation of full month-end reporting for the business, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Managing the sales and purchase ledger functions, including invoice processing and reconciliations.
- Reviewing timesheets, analysing hours and liaising with the commercial team to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
- Managing account variances, performing accruals and undertaking balance sheet reconciliations.
- Producing all management information for monthly MI meetings, delivering clear and insightful financial reporting.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring strong financial controls are in place.
- Utilising financial software including Xero to manage and enhance reporting processes.
The Bookkeeper will ideally have strong experience using Xero and be confident working with Excel to produce detailed and accurate reports. A proactive approach, the ability to prioritise workload and a desire to continuously improve processes will be key to success in this role. This position will suit a reliable and enthusiastic finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and contributing directly to the financial performance and operational success of a growing business.
