My client is an independent, Chartered private wealth management firm with offices in Cambridge, London and Stansted.
Clients are supported by a dedicated team of over 20 industry professionals. They assume the role of a collaborative financial partner. Guiding, advising and working with clients over the long-term. Building a relationship that permits both openness and debate.
They now have an opportunity for a Senior Client Manager / Paraplanner to join their experienced team.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To support the Advisers and Financial Planners in managing client relationships, preparation and delivery of financial planning services and regulated advice. To act as the first point of contact for clients, ensuring a smooth delivery of an excellent client servicing experience and communication.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Client Servicing
- Provide friendly and professional first point of contact for clients (by post, phone, email, virtual and in person)
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships, manage their needs and enquiries, and attend meetings
- Organise existing and prospective client meetings, including the Financial Health Assessment (FHA) process.
- Prepare client documentation in advance of and following client meetings, including meetings notes
- Manage client service needs, preferences, and expectations to ensure client satisfaction
- Liaise with other team members on work progress for all client live activities and keep clients informed (as per business process)
- Liaise with third parties and other professionals regarding client investments, tax or legal affairs
- Ensure that relevant service components (as per client agreements and service propositions) are delivered throughout the year and in a timely manner
- Oversee and manage ongoing client servicing requests. Delegate tasks when appropriate while ensuring actions are diarised and dealt with in a timely manner.
Preparation & Maintenance of Client Files
- Oversee the data harvest process and ensure completeness of client files, both electronic and paper based, and accuracy of data obtained
- Confirm client risk profiling is determined, up-to-date and recorded including liaison with the Investment Director
- Ensure all appropriate ‘know your client’ information has been obtained and can be demonstrated within the relevant client file
- Liaise with other team members to maintain accurate client records on the back- office system, platforms and other IT systems that hold client data
- Maintain detailed records to comply with the regulations of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
Preparation of Regulated Advice
- Identify and obtain information necessary to compile client recommendations and assist with cash flow forecasts
- Document all the quantitative detailed information required to support any recommendations to be made
- Compile draft net worth statements; income and expenditure statements and financial cash flow forecasts for review by Advisers
- Identify and discuss areas of financial planning with Advisers and Financial Planners
- Carry out technical calculations
- Carry out due diligence on platforms, products, investments, providers etc.
- Undertake research to identify suitable solutions to meet clients’ needs and specific objectives
- Liaise with product providers and negotiate best terms for clients
- Prepare relevant information and comparisons ready for review by Advisers and Financial Planners
- Liaise with clients’ accountants, legal and tax advisers and other third parties in relation to client requirements and holdings
- Consider current and future asset allocation for investment strategies in relation to client risk profiles and lifetime cash flows
- Produce clear, technically accurate, compliant, and concise Financial Plans and Suitability Reports as per Advice Process
- Obtain illustrations and application forms as necessary with assistance of the Administration team
- Complete and manage applications or proposal forms
- Ensure that all recommendations and reports meet legal and regulatory requirements
- Implementation of recommendations
- Make changes to clients’ investments as necessary
- Ensure agreed action points get diarised, actioned and completed as per business process
- Liaise with other team members to ensure efficient and accurate processing of recommendations as per Implementation process; assist when needed
Client reviews
- Organise client review meetings as per Annual Review Process or Catch Up Meeting Process
- Oversee preparation of paperwork required for the reviews as per Annual Review Process and contribute technical aspects of review documentation as per the Annual Review Process
- Review client cases, including their investment portfolios, asset allocations, risk profiles etc.
- Carry out financial calculations and prepare spreadsheets
- Attend client meetings and complete file notes
- Diarise and oversee implementation of agreed actions post all client meetings
EXPERIENCE
- Used to dealing with high net worth clients
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a (Junior) Paraplanner
- Minimum 3 years working within a financial planning environment
- Certificate in Financial Planning or Paraplanning; OR
- Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4)
