- My client is a nationwide organisation and one of the leading Pension Consultancies and TPAs in the country.
Primary purpose of the role:
The Head of CASS Oversight role is a key first line function reporting into the CASS certification function. Responsible for all first line elements of CASS compliance, you will work closely across different areas of the business, acting as SME to ensure that relevant rules and controls are understood and applied by the operation. A key attendee at governance forums, you will deliver MI and reporting to senior management and challenge the business as appropriate. You will also be the lead contact point for audit work, compliance review and other external reviews.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the CASS Operational Oversight Manager
- Oversee production of key MI and governance papers
- Provide CASS Oversight at key governance forums
- Oversee regulatory reporting and key CASS calendar events
- Act as SME for the business on CASS breach, issue and rule queries
- Identify, report and track CASS issues and related projects within the business
- Primary contact for second and line third line reviews and external audit
- Deputise for the CASS Control Function
- Track and drive outstanding actions and remediation activities
- Review breaches and escalate incidents and notifiable events
- Support business transformation activity to ensure this delivers CASS compliance and a robust control environment
Key Tasks- Review all MI and paprs in a timley manner
- Attend, deliver and chair as required at CASS governance forums
- Ensure regulatory reporting and other calendar events are delivered in a timely manner
- Respond to queries from the business in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure audits and other reviews are adequately tracked and overseen
Skills, Knowledge and Experience- CASS 7 knowledge
- Can demonstrate a sound general knowledge of the rules
- Can give examples of how the rules could be breached
- Can demonstrate examples of notifiable breaches
- Can discuss scenarios where they have taken complex data and analysed this, outlining which tools they have used and how the resulting data was summarised into key MI for stakeholders
- Can demonstrate good verbal communication and give examples of reports they have written, how they have decided what information to include and how these have been tailored to the specific audience
- Can give examples of times they have presented to different staff levels and how they have adapted their presentation style as a result of who they are communicating with
- Pension knowledge is desirable
