Financial Controller - Fast Track Opportunity To FD
Salary: To £60,000, plus benefits
Our client is one of the UK’s leading luxury car dealerships seeking an ambitious Financial Controller to work alongside the Interim FD and company directors.
You will be a strong Financial Controller who is able to undertake every part of the Accounts team roles, not afraid to roll their sleeves up and get involved, and posses some strong leadership experience. Someone who is looking for their next step and willing to work with our Interim FD to develop into the role.
You will be responsible for all aspects of the company finances, having responsibility and control for all financial aspects of company strategy. The successful candidate will preferably have automotive industry background and have an excellent generalist understanding of all areas of accounts at a higher level. Management responsibilities are key as you will be leading a pre-existing team to ensure the priority matters within the department such as payroll, VAT, management accounts are up to date.
Duties
- Provide leadership to the company’s finance and accounting strategy, to optimise the company’s financial performance and strategic position
- Control the company’s accounting function
- Contribute to the development of company strategy, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate, and providing financial analysis and guidance on activities, plans, targets and business drivers
- Effectively manage the performance of the accounts team by carrying out reviews and ensuring objectives are cascaded throughout the department
- Work with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans
- Oversee, review and adhere to the budgets for each business department
- To ensure the accurate and timely preparation of management accounts
- Any other reasonable duties assigned by management.
Responsibilities
- Form a close working relationship with the directors, other senior executives and non-executives
- Ensure that the company’s financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
- Responsible for the company’s cash management policies
- Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
- Monitor cash flow, accounts and other financial transactions
- To manage and oversee the preparation of all statutory returns and the management of company pension schemes
Person Specification
- Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification
- Automotive industry experience preferable
- Management experience
- Exceptional communications skills at all levels
- Strong IT skills
- Ability to handle high levels of pressure
- High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
