Description

My client is a global wealth and asset manager based in London. They create bespoke investment solutions designed to preserve and enhance their clients’ wealth. They manage more than $3.8 billion of discretionary assets and are constantly growing, as investors from all over the world recognise the value of their collaborative approach.

The Role

Often acting as the link between the front office and operations, the Middle Office function is responsible for supporting the client servicing teams and wider business in matters of data management, account opening/closing and asset transfer administration.

A newly created role, this is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to come on board and assist in defining the process for the transferring of assets for new and existing clients. The Asset Transfer Manager will manage the transitions process and will be responsible for executing the end-to-end asset transfer process and ensuring that all assets are delivered and received compliantly and within agreed timeframes. 

Responsibilities

  • Establishment of cooperative and professional external relationships with incumbent and receivingcustodians to ensure timely and accurate transfer of client assets
  • Requesting portfolio data from incumbent custodians and transposing data into an agreed internalformat and receiving custodian review and acceptance
  • Proactively liaising with product providers and internal client services teams to ensure a smooth and efficient asset transfer process
  • Responsible for sending regular, clearand detailed updates to the client services teams with regards to the status of on-going transition activity
  • Set-up of securities in internal portfolio management system
  • Complete post-transition hand-over with the relevant departments internally
  • Collate asset data along and relevant tax information to ensure a smooth transition to the Client's account
  • Resolve discrepancies and take actionon both routine matters and inquiries
  • Make proactive recommendations and solutions to improve service and problem resolution
  • Ad-hoc reporting, including daily, weeklyand monthly metrics
  • Establishing service level agreements with internal departments to ensure each department is clear on their responsibilities and expected deliverables
  • Determine the impact of activities in your domain to other areas of the business

Skills/Experience

  • At least 5 years asset transfer or transitions experience in financial services – preferably in Wealth Management with experience of international asset transfers for all major asset classes
  • Experience in asset transfers for US clients, both US domestic and international - preferred but not essential
  • Experience of managing or supervising junior members of staff
  • Able to manage relationships both internally and externally, throughout asset transfer process
