Purpose of role
To support the Consultants, Directors and Clients in the provision of financial planning advice.
The Paraplanner role requires experience of (and confidence in) dealing with high net worth (HNW) clients. This role would be to join a team and work closely with a consultant. Attention to detail, ability to work unsupervised, under pressure and to tight deadlines are all essential. The role will entail research and report writing within a strong client focussed team.
To produce Suitability Letters following recommendations made in line with the firm’s guidelines and procedures. This involves use of the company’s database (Intelliflo) and meeting notes to gather information on the client, liaising with other members of the client service and advisory team where necessary.
Key responsibilities:
- Research and technical assessment of cases submitted by Consultants.
- Production of compliant and technically accurate suitability letters and reports within reasonable timescales.
- Acting as author of suitability letters which will be peer reviewed by the Consultant.
- Research for client solutions to guide Consultants.
- Assisting the Consultants to answer client queries and provide a solution to their needs.
- Liaison with compliance department with technical queries.
- Dealing with complex cases and problem solving.
- Adhering to anti-money laundering, DPA and compliance procedures.
- Ensuring requirements of suitability letter and new business checklist are met.
- Accurate record keeping of all verbal or written communication with clients and third parties, including content, time, date and circumstances.
- Ensure keep up to date with legislation changes and brief Consultants accordingly
- Analyse raw data to assist Advisers in making client recommendations.
- Involvement in meetings and independently running client meetings where necessary
Qualifications & Experience

This role requires:
- Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning as a minimum.
- 4 years minimum relevant IFA industry experience.
- Excellent knowledge of all advice areas including retirement planning and pension consolidation.
- Bespoke client focussed report writing experience.
- Evidence of strong technical knowledge.
- Strong understanding of compliance responsibilities and requirements.
- Ability to work within a team, providing support and mentoring to more junior members of the team. Overseeing tasks and ensuring high quality work produced by all. Helping with the management of work and the career progression of others.
